APRIL/MAY 2016 89 SPECIAL ADVERTISING SECTION Caie Robinson Robinson Home Interiors 470 First Street | 478.731.7075 robinsonhomeinteriors.com Robinson Home Interiors is a new business. How did you make the decision to start this and why? Robinson Home Interiors is a full-service residential and commercial design firm. My husband, Will, and I opened our store, Robinson Home, in downtown Macon in 2013 with plans to integrate design services from the beginning. This new venture is the culmination of my master's degree and experience as the Preservation Designer for Historic Macon Foundation for the last four and a half years. This past January (2016) I decided it was finally the time to go out on my own. What is most rewarding about what you do? I love being able to see a raw space before and then after I have finished my work. Seeing a creation come to life is very rewarding. The new downtown restaurant, El Camino, is a prefect example. The historic space was vacant for years and completely raw. We have touched and changed every part of the space. I love that! Where do you hope to be in five years? I hope I am continuing to do the jobs I love and expanding my business even beyond Macon, GA. I love being a part of the growth, change and historic preservation of downtown Macon and I look forward to expanding the Robinson Home brand. *** Lisa Hais Account Executive - Macon Magazine 2208 Ingleside Avenue | 678.270.6424 Lisa@MaconMagazine.com | MaconMagazine.com How did your career path lead to this current profession? My previous background was in senior management with Gap, Inc and Target Corporation. I held a multitude of positions in my 22 years in retail including sales, store & multi-unit management, property development and more. Working with iconic businesses that are woven into the framework of both American culture and economic growth provided me tremendous understanding of business and brand management. The experiences prepared me to look at marketing from multiple standpoints while maximizing their long-term strategy to grow. Marketing is an investment and I understand how important it is to get it right the first time. What do you enjoy about your job? Hands down it is the people I do business with and for. Connection is fundamentally important to me and it is amazing how many people I meet with on a weekly basis. I am genuinely invested in helping others succeed. Hearing the goals of people motivates me to help them surpass their goals. For business owners and leaders, business is personal and reflects performance so I work hard to ensure they shine. Tell us about your involvement in the community. I have lived a majority of my life in Macon so I have a vested interest in its development. I was President of Historic Macon in 2004 & recently joined the Rebuilding Macon board. Additionally, my husband, his sister and I founded Macon Octoberfest in 2012. Held annually in Tattnal Square Park, it is a multi-day music and Georgia craft beer festival that benefits local charities and drives tourism to Macon. *** Women In Business
