88 MACONMAGAZINE.COM Norma Alexander Salon Bella 3975 Arkwright Road, Ste. 3 478.477.4665 | SalonBellaMacon.com What led you to open Salon Bella in 2000? I first worked in California and in Florida before moving to Macon. I decided to take on the challenge and open my own salon, and I quickly built customer loyalty. It has been a very rewarding experience. My husband and I have dual residences in Macon & Atlanta, however I continue to have my business here because of my lasting relationships. Tell us about your areas of expertise. My specialty is to contour & highlight people's best features with hair color & hairstyles that enhance their self- image. Also, I continually invest in my education to ensure my techniques are of the highest industry standards in order to fulfill my clients' expectations. I work with all age groups and have obtained over 20 years of customer loyalty. What do you find most satisfying about your profession and owning your own salon? This salon has had such an amazing impact on my life. It has provided travel opportunities, an education & an amazing support system. With the Lord's help, I have won two battles with cancer, and I am happy to say that I am cancer free today! With the encouragement of family & friends, I recently obtained my BS in Business Management, Majored in Human Resource Management, and graduated with a distinction of Summa Cum Laude, 4.0/4.0 GPA. In addition, I earned my certification in Project Management, which is a global business standard. Finishing my degree has motivated me to continue to look at how I can be at my best for both clients and myself every day. *** SPECIAL ADVERTISING SECTION Middle Georgia Pampered Ladies 478.952.8008 (Latasha) | 478.731.6485 (Tamiko) MidGAPampered.wix.com/mdga Tell us about your business and your career path. The Middle GA Pampered Ladies, LLC ® Expo creates a social environment for women who share a common interest in networking, supporting local charitable organizations and growing both personally and professionally. Our Mission is to offer local vendors the opportunity to sell and display their products and services and to offer ladies in the Middle Georgia area an evening to focus on themselves while giving back to local charitable organizations. Who influenced you the most and made you who you are? Our mothers. We both lost our moms to cancer. Tamiko's mom had breast cancer and my mom had brain cancer. We pour our heart and soul into our event because we want them to be proud of what we have accomplished. Putting God first and treating people how we would want to be treated has helped to mold us into who we are. What is the most gratifying part of your job? We love providing a successful event for both our vendors and attendees. We are not your typical pop up shop. The diversity of the expo offers a little something for every ladies' desire, from shoes, wine, massages, cupcakes, makeup and jewelry. We love the different perspectives coming together to support GA businesses and local charities. Our events have given back to Kid's Yule Love, Crystal's Call, The American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen, Habitat for Humanity, Georgia Wellness and Fitness Festival, Joshua's Wish, Manna of Hope Resources, TaTa Bang Bang, Project Giving, S.P.I.N., Crisis Line Safe House of Central Ga and have helped other local families in need. *** Join us December 11, 2016 for our 3rd Annual Middle GA Pampered Ladies Expo at the Historic Terminal Station.
