90 MACONMAGAZINE.COM James-Bates-Braan-Grver-LLP Georgia's Law Firm 231 Riverside Drive, Ste. 100 | 478.742.4280 GeorgiasLawFirm.com What sets your law firm apart from other local firms? Dianna: James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP sets itself apart from other local firms with its reputation for consistently providing excellent client service. I believe that this reputation reflects JBBG's focus on cultivating a fun work environment which motivates attorneys to continue to provide exemplary service to our clients. What woman inspires you and why? Kathryn: My legal assistant, Cathy Padgett. I am blessed with parents that led by example, demonstrating the importance of family, hard work and kindness to others. Cathy's similar values are apparent from her daily actions. She serves as a constant reminder of how I strive to live my life. Who influenced you the most to pursue your career goals? Corrie: A college professor told me that my desire to serve others, paired with a legal degree, could help meet a community's great need for excellent representation. This profoundly influenced my decision to attend law school and is a cornerstone of why I practice law today. *** SPECIAL ADVERTISING SECTION James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP Attorneys (pictured from left to right): Rachel Turnbull, Kathryn Willis, Natalie Stroud, Kim Stroup, Corrie Hall, Mary Beth Hand and Dianna Lee. What do you find most satisfying about your profession? Natalie: I love knowing that almost every day when I come to work I get the opportunity to learn something new. I find that extra rewarding because I know that the more I learn, the better advice I am able to give my clients. How do you balance your work and home life? Mary Beth: By prioritizing. My job is flexible enough that I can take my daughter to soccer practice but that may mean I have to work that night. I also have a great support system at home with a husband and daughter who understand that my career is important to me. Tell us about your hobbies outside of work. Kim: Reading, traveling, watching sports and gardening are my hobbies. Unfortunately, I do not have a green thumb, but it does help the local economy for me to buy plants that will have a quick demise. What advice would you give someone considering a career as an attorney? Rachel: If you're in high school or college, try to find an internship to see what the day-to-day experience of being an attorney is like. Interning helped me make a more informed decision about becoming an attorney and enabled me to be better prepared after law school. Women In Business
