That's when Heinz Krassnig and Christine Kehrer introduced the Christkindlmarket to downtown Dublin. Created in 2015, this event was the beginning of many magical holiday seasons. Commencing Nov. 24, and happening from noon-7 p.m. each Friday and Saturday through Dec. 15, the Dublin Carnegie and Bicentennial Plaza will be transformed into a winter wonderland of abounding German traditions. Activities, events and refreshments surrounded by the spirit of Bethlehem will replicate European heritage dating back to the early 1300s. The Christkindlmarket is comprised of budens, or booths, brimming with homemade goods such as woodworks, jewelry, soaps, Christmas decor and more. Shop for the perfect gift while sipping a warm glass of classic Christkindl gluehwein (mulled wine), or enjoying a traditional German bratwurst. Memories are guaranteed to be made riding ponies, decorating gingerbread cookies, taking photos with Santa, cruising on the Polar Express or listening to live music. The holiday season wouldn't be complete without the enchantment that the Christkindlmarket has graced our city with. It has become a tradition for locals and visitors alike! – Daisy Tapley L O C A L B U Z Z Rolling on the second Thursday of every month September to December 2018 and March to June 2019 M A C O N BIKE Party Macon Bike Party is a slow-paced community bicycle ride for people of all ages and skills levels.
