In January 2017, Rick Dover, of Dover Development, and Faris Eid, of Design Innovations Architects, presented the concept to transform Alex IV into a senior living facility. The development will consist of 61 units for senior living and create 30 permanent jobs. The project is expected to begin in early 2018 and will finish later in the year. Dover Development focuses on renovating old buildings and putting them back into use. A similar project at Oakwood Elementary in Knoxville has won multiple historic preservation awards. Old City Flower Festival unites Macon churches The seventh annual Old City Flower Festival will be held Jan. 20- 22 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, located at the corner of College and Forsyth streets. With the theme "Consider the Lilies of the Field," the festival will showcase the work of flower guilds from more than 15 Macon area churches. The free flower show will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 20, 1-4 p.m. Jan. 21 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 22. Complementing the show will be free midday organ recitals, an evensong service with special music, an art exhibit and a gift shop.
