The whole family will have fun with this charming, witty show in which Goldilocks is prosecuted for breaking and entering the home of the Three Bears! In the courtroom, we watch as Goldilocks and the Bears enact the traditional tale. Next, the prosecutor and the defense attorney present their hilarious versions of the same events. A jury of animals makes some surprising decisions and doles out appropriately funny sentences, so everybody goes home happy—and a little wiser! General admission, $10; Children grades K-8 and all students free; free with Mercer ID. Sept. 29-30, 6 p.m. Oct. 1, 2:30 p.m. DON'T MISS: Martha Malone, soprano, and Carol Goff, piano, will offer an eclectic program based on the idea that music expresses all of life, from the sublime to the hilarious, from rags to riches, from lullabies to dirges. You'll hear quite a variety of styles and genres, from Purcell to Sondheim. Prepare to be surprised. Thursday, Sept. 7. Mercer University Faculty Brass Quintet will be up to its normal "Brass Tactics" this concert season featuring a wide gamut of brass literature sure to fit the tastes of music lovers from across Middle Georgia. Tuesday, Sept. 12. THE ROBERT MCDUFFIE CENTER FOR STRINGS PRESENTS THE FABIAN CONCERT SERIES; PRESENTING DVORAK VIOLA QUINTET IN E FLAT MAJOR, OP. 97 Rebecca Albers, viola; Lawrence Dutton, viola; Annie Fullard, violin; Paul Watkins, cello; Amy Schwartz Moretti, violin; Elizabeth Pridgen, piano. Center faculty and Emerson String Quartet violist Lawrence Dutton brings the quartet's newest member, cellist Paul Watkins, to the Center for a once- in-a-lifetime performance of Dvorak's Viola Quintet. The 2017-18 Fabian concert series is a who's-who of composers and performers; make plans for exciting evenings of the best classical music has to offer!
