Ken custom designs every musical moment through improvisation and new composition to bring each event to life. Join us in a celebratory concert of song and story-telling featuring Ken Medema, the Mercer Singers, and the Mercer University Youth Choir to commemorate the opening of the Ken Medema collection in the Tarver Library. Elegy for Martin Luther King, world premiere Monday, January 15, 7 p.m. Mercer University celebrates Martin Luther King with a special concert featuring the Hayiya Dance Theatre, directed by Ms. Pilar Wilder Lowden, and the Mercer Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Monty Cole. Elegy for Martin Luther King, an original composition by Dr. Christopher Schmitz based on the poetry of Senegalese poet and statesman Leopold Sedar Senghor, and read by Mercer alumnus Michael Scott, will receive its world premiere on January 15th at 7 pm, at Macon's Grand Opera House.
