Our homes are our sanctuaries. It's where we rest and relax - and, entertain. Having a space that reflects our unique personalities, travels, family, and interests offers an inviting extension of who we are as individuals while also functioning well together. Sometimes, spaces may need many ideas brought together to become one cohesive statement or theme; other times, there may be a blank canvas - both a challenge and great reward of my work. There is always a story behind every project, and it's such a compliment to have clients call me as they move from home to home - or, a completely separate venture. I guess to really answer the question: Most people need help with scale - an element of design that requires a trained eye, experience, and a sense of boldness. It's critically important to balance the furniture layout while creating interest and functionality with flooring, lighting and accessories - all while adding a unique element of flare. What kind of projects have you worked on over your 20-plus years of experience? I've worked on boardrooms to bungalows, first homes to vacation homes, a number of multiple corporate locations, and academic campuses. I've designed new constructions and many renovation projects. Additionally, I provide another opinion, no matter the project. Designing is what I do! How do you best showcase your approachable style? No two spaces are ever alike. When working with clients - regardless of budget - I have learned to listen very carefully, observe personalities, and lifestyle interests to truly fulfill their vision through my company's message: Complimenting Your Style. I really enjoy showcasing my customers' treasured furnishings, collectibles, and accessories to tell the story that is uniquely theirs. What advice would you offer someone wanting to update a space today? Paint always offers a wonderful way to transform a space. Or I would suggest re- accessorizing; you can do this by taking all art, pillows, and accessories out of the space. Then, the challenge is not to place any accessory in the same location. Voila ... a new room unfolds! Women In Business
