As part of their project, the class raised $95,000 necessary to add benches, an overlook, and a steel pedestrian bridge. They worked together as a class along with Macon-Bibb Parks and Beautification, the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail, and the Macon Water Authority to clear approximately two miles of trail. Class members also engaged the Macon-Bibb community to promote the OHT and Amerson River Park. The Leadership Macon program provides leadership training and community orientation to individuals seeking to become more involved in the growth and development of Macon-Bibb County. The year-long program introduces a class to the attributes, opportunities and challenges of the local community For more information, visit LeadershipMacon.org.
