May ■ Chamber partners with 100 Black Men of Macon- Middle Georgia in hosting Board of Education Elected Officials Forum. ■ State of Small Business Summit held offering small businesses ideas and networking opportunities. Partnering organizations of SCORE, Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, NewTown Macon, Macon-Bibb County launched this inaugural event attended by 100 small business leaders. ■ The Consul General of Japan, Takashi Shinozuka visits Macon meeting with local business leaders to further enhance Macon's relationship with Japan. ■ Kumho Tire official grand opening of first U.S. Manufacturing Facility. Chamber and MEDC officials celebrated with dignitaries from the company's Macon and Korean locations all in attendance. ■ Chamber celebrates with Macon's Alexander II Math and Science Magnet School and First Presbyterian Day School as both are recognized as 2015 National Blue Ribbon Schools. Only nine schools in Georgia were selected with two of them being in Bibb County. June ■ 2016 Total Resource Campaign concludes with 60 spectacular volunteers reaching out to the entire community and bringing in record sales of $347,000 in event sponsorships and memberships ■ Leadership Macon Alumni Luncheon features Mr. Alan Walden who spoke about his life and times with Capricorn Records and Macon's own, Mr. Otis Redding. ■ Young Professionals Network kicks off 2016 Professional Development Lunch & Learn Series. ■ Leadership Macon Class of 2016 announces class project "Bridging the Trail" which will connect a two-mile stretch of the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail with Amerson River Park including a pedestrian bridge. 279 Members for Over 25 Years
