Yoga lovers and anyone curious about this mind, body, and soul exercise can look forward to this unique studio opening downtown early spring. Located in the College Hill Commons on Washington Avenue, Sparks Yoga is the product of Macon wife-and-husband duo Megan and Josh Carson and their passion to continue growing the Macon yoga community. "Sparks will provide yoga classes that fit every body and every skill level. We want Sparks to provide a meaningful experience, not just a class," said Megan who is a certified yoga teacher. Her graduate degree in social work and her therapy background ultimately led her to seek yoga certification to further study mind and body therapy. Josh is a financial services representative and a musician who came to yoga after Megan's introduction. Josh and Megan see that downtown is ripe for yoga. "We want Sparks to create a fun, welcoming community active in all that is going on downtown," Josh said. The couple is planning First Friday events, live music at yoga classes, business partnerships, yoga in parks and much more. There's a spring event with Piedmont Brewery in the works. You see all walks of people come by. You witness some bad people, but you see so many other good people, too. Don't look the other way from us, 'cause some of us are not homeless." - - Jewel "A lot of people think of failure as a negative. But, the more I think about it and the more I live, I think failure actually can be a very positive thing." -Will MACONITES the .com Macon has a story to tell.
