Rosser Riddle, the niche clothing line featuring legendary soul musicians, has opened its inaugural pop-up shop at 362 Second St. from Nov. 29-Dec. 23. Shoppers can expect hip T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring Otis Redding, a new "Macon, Georgia" style, and other designs Briefs featuring iconic musicians and their lyrics. "I fell in love with Macon," founder/lead designer Ross Riddle noted after his recent first visit to the city during the Otis Redding 75th anniversary event celebrating the King of Soul's 75th birthday. He will take a hiatus from his New York City post in favor of opening the pop-up shop in Macon's soulful scene this holiday season. Based in New York City, the brand launched in January 2014 by Riddle (a native of the South). "I wasn't seeing the music I love properly represented in the clothing arena." The powers behind the stars of our musical past agree that Riddle's designs are doing just that. Officially licensed legacies include Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, James Brown and Isaac Hayes. Current and past retailers include Saks Fifth Avenue, Urban Outfitters and specialty shops in New York, Nashville, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Japan. Celebrity fans of the brand include Olivia Wilde, Boyz II Men, Flo Rida, Miranda Lambert, and Teddy Riley. Rosser Riddle (RosserRiddle.com) will be open throughout the holiday season Tuesday-Saturday 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. HOT OFF THE PRESS AND ONTO YOUR TABLE How about a holiday gift, or an anytime gift, that benefits your cooking skills and a local organization that rehabilitates the houses of low-income homeowners - free of charge, particularly the elderly and people with disabilities?
