50 | MACON MAGAZINE DECEMBER/JANUARY 2017 What makes your business different, more innovative, than other home care services? Our ownership involvement. We are involved in all aspects of the business and committed to communication with the families we serve. The biggest complaint from people is no communication, and we understand that's an issue. We will leave no stone unturned to provide quality care and be consistent in providing that care. We're also one of the few providers that can work directly with the VA; that is a unique relationship we have and a privilege for us to be able to offer that care. Give us some examples of the client care you provide where "no stone is left unturned." One I'm especially proud of is when we cared for a lady in hospice from Atlanta who was staying with her daughter on the outskirts of our service area here in Middle Georgia. She came down here to be in hospice so she could be with her daughter. Due to physical circumstances and her condition, being moved around was difficult. She made a request that she truly wanted "to go to my church one more time before I die." We made it happen. Her church is in Atlanta. Another client said "Interim had a handle on every aspect of my mother's care. From managing the sitters to communicating with me, they were amazing. Every sitter was professional and considerate. I was so impressed." A very recent client stated she could not have been able to take care of her husband without Interim Health. "My husband had a severe stroke and needed time to recover, but I needed help with all the daily living tasks," she said. "I could help him and be with him, but I just couldn't do it all by myself. Interim made my life and his life so much easier and truly helped him recuperate more quickly!" Tell us about the people involved in Interim Healthcare. We have around 70 active caregivers. That includes RNs, LPNs and 50 or so CNAs and PCAs. The fact that we have skilled nursing care available is unique to the area. That means we can legally give, for example, insulin injections and medications to our patients. We also have a licensed clinical social worker that works with us to ensure we are providing exactly what is needed, and that we are matching the right caregivers with the right clients. We believe that we have created a unique service for our clients that is more dependable, safe and cost effective than using a low skilled facility or private sitter. When it matters most, count on us! Healthy . . .
