MACONMAGAZINE.COM ORTHOGEORGIA 3708 NORTHSIDE DRIVE MACON, GEORGIA 31210 (478) 745-4206 | ORTHOGA.ORG What is unique about OrthoGeorgia Spine Center, and what are some of the more cutting-edge procedures being done often at OrthoGeorgia? We have designed our practice to provide patients with the ability to come here and see their doctors, complete X-Rays, physical therapy, use the pharmacy and more without ever leaving the building. And there are fewer very sick patients here than in a large hospital. Because of this, our infection rate for outpatient surgery is extremely low, less than 1 percent. There are a number of advanced procedures our spine doctors specialize in including lumbar disc replacement and motion preservation surgery. These are important concepts in treating degenerative disc disease in the lumbar spine. Minimally invasive techniques have become a common way our physicians treat spine disorders, also. Using tiny incisions allows for surgical intervention that is much easier on the patient with less blood loss, quicker healing, less chance of infection and the ability to resume normal daily activities much sooner. Our use of robotics, or computer- assisted guidance, in performing surgery cuts down on error VLJQL´FDQWO\DOORZLQJIRUH[DPSOH 99 percent accuracy in placing screws in the spine for stabilization.
