Breast health is the focus of the Breast Care Center Navicent Health. To serve as many women as possible and to try to ensure early diagnosis and the most comprehensive care, we have ´YH&HQWUDO*HRUJLDORFDWLRQV The staff is fully trained to work with patients to ensure their experience is as positive as it can possibly be. The center also sponsors educational programs to keep women informed about new treatments, the importance of an early, accurate diagnosis and QHZUHVHDUFKLQWKH´HOGRIEUHDVW health. Where are the other four Breast Care Centers? Breast Care Centers are located at 5952 Zebulon Road/ Macon (Diagnostics Zebulon); 1650 Hardeman Avenue/Macon (Diagnostics Hardeman); 1960 HWY 247 Connector/Byron (Medical Center of Peach County); 120 North Lee Street/ Forsyth (Monroe Diagnostics). Is the Center accredited? Yes. The Breast Care Center is designated as a Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology and is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers by the American College of Surgeons. What is meant by comprehensive breast care, and why is it important? The Breast Care Center Navicent Health offers a variety of services to work with the patient and their family. Radiology and surgical consultations are available on-site at the main location at 800 First St. in Macon. We offer grants for screening and diagnostic mammography if the need arises. The most advanced diagnostic procedures including breast ultrasound, ultrasound guided biopsy and stereotactic biopsy are available to our patients. Breast Health Specialists are located at the main location at 800 First St., Macon, for consultation and education and to work with patients and their families as they go through the treatment process. Genetic counseling and survivorship care planning for breast cancer survivors are two important services the Center offers to treat the whole patient and help patients deal with the complicated and sometimes overwhelming diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Does the Breast Care Center Navicent Health accept all insurance? Yes. The care at the Center is covered by most health care plans and Medicare and Medicaid.
