How did your career path lead you to become a Realtor? As a child & teenager my parents moved many times. I was exposed to looking at homes & going to closings in my youth. These experiences made me consider a career in real estate. When I married in 1977 I told my husband that it was my goal to become a real estate agent; he said I should wait till I was older because I looked no more than sixteen and no one would buy a home from me. Finally at 28 I took the pre-licensing classes for the state of Georgia. After passing the state exam on my first attempt, I began looking for a company to "hold my license." I achieved my goal of becoming a Realtor in the fall of 1987. What is most challenging about your job? I have always felt it is most difficult to tell a property owner the worth of their home. So many people put their heart and soul into it and the value of their love is priceless. In recent years, property values have drastically reduced, and telling sellers they owe more than their home is worth has been disheartening. What is most rewarding? DEFINITELY the people I meet in listing & selling real estate. This is a people business more than a property business. The trust and confidence people have in you as their Realtor is incredibly rewarding. At the end of the day it is about personal relationships. Where do you see your business taking you in the next five years or what are your career goals? My main goal is to continue listing and selling real estate as I have for the past twenty-six years. I have enjoyed being on the front line and the personal relationships it allows me to foster. After experiencing tremendous growth beginning in 2010, I asked Jimmy Ballard to join Rivoli Realty as my sales partner in the spring of 2013. Jimmy is a million dollar producer who brings a strong background in new construction, re-sales and internet marketing. As a team, Jimmy and I are able to offer our clients a greater knowledge of middle Georgia real estate and a personalized, friendly home buying and selling experience.
