Adver tising Sales at Cumulus Radio TORI DEGRAW JENNINGS How did your career path lead you into radio? It was actually the Cumulus radio recruitment commercials 10 years ago. My first position right out of college was for a publishing company, selling print advertising. I worked my way up from a sales representative to the Regional Manager over Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. I traveled all the time and would hear the recruitment commercials on my way out of town. It took about six months before I made the call but it was the best call I ever made. I absolutely love what I do. What organizations are you involved with outside of Cumulus Radio? I'm an active member with the Junior League of Macon going into my fourth year of service. This will be my second year as the Special Events Chair on the Executive Board of the Macon Arts Alliance and my third year as a Board member. I was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Jazz Association of Macon and I'm wrapping up a two-year term on the Board of Directors for the Central Georgia Chapter of the American Advertising Federation. What do you enjoy the most? At Cumulus I love working with my clients and helping them grow their business. I'm always looking for new clients, too. It's so rewarding to see my marketing and advertising ideas come to life and yield successful results. What are your career goals for the next year? In June, my husband and our best friends Paul and Tatum Findlay from Atlanta are opening a brand new restaurant in Payne City called Twang Southern Tastes & Sounds. My goal is for it to become a huge success while maintaining my career in advertising sales at Cumulus Radio. I plan to utilize the experience I've gained from working with other business owners in advertising, sales, promotions, and event planning to make this happen. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in architecture from UC Berkeley, I worked in the landscape architecture field and then pursued graduate studies in architecture, interior design, and art history in Italy . I completed my graduate studies at UGA earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in interior design. What helped you develop your style as a designer? My education in the fields of architecture, interior and landscape design, photography, furniture, the arts, and my experience in Italy, have given me a reverence for tradition and the confidence to endlessly innovate in an effortlessly chic style. What type of work do you do? I offer full service architectural interior design which includes working with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients from the ground up on new construction. Once construction is complete, I work directly with the client and design a completely furnished space. What are your goals with your clients? Using my signature mix of layers of patterns and bold colour palettes, enhanced with subtle contrasts of traditional design motifs, the spaces I create are fresh through the modern styling of textures and colours. Creating an intimate, inviting, and personal space the client envisions is my goal. How does e-design work? For those who would like an interior consultation but are concerned about costs, I offer online design services. With e-design I create specifications for the client, which include manufacturers, along with a designated web page and printed portfolio of design ideas to give the client the creative direction necessary to implement and achieve an ideal design. 4860 Forsyth Road I Macon, Ga. 31210 I 478-757-8814 designgirl@SuzanneMRogers.com www.SuzanneMRogers.com 90 l MACON MAGAZINE JUNE/JULY 2013 A D V E R T I S E M E N T
