JONATHAN FORMAN Audio technician, Macon Coliseum HOW HE GOT HERE: "My dad did the sound for our church growing up, and I picked up enough pieces here and there to fill in now and then." HUBBLE BEASLEY General Manager, The Capitol Theatre and Grant's Lounge WHY HE DOES IT: "One of my favorite parts about this job is looking out from side stage at the crowds faces while they sing along." BOB MAVITY Senior Technical Director, The Grand Opera House HOW HE GOT THE "SENIOR" TITLE: "I came to The Grand in 1994, just before Mercer [University] began managing the facility in '95. I started playing rock bands when I was 15. As the singer, you end up being in charge of the PA, and before long, you figure it all out. I was doing some production work in Atlanta on the side, when a friend recommended me to the technical director here. Now I'm the technical director. When Mercer brings people in to tour the facility, they say I came with the building." PAUL MAVITY Technical Staff, The Grand Opera House HOW HE STAYS SANE: "A Chewbacca figure is mounted on my workstation, with a rotating face. It's currently set to happy, but I can rotate it to let everyone what kind of mood I'm in." AUSTIN RUSSEL Sound Technician, Grant's Lounge HOW HE EXPANDS HIS PALATE: "My favorite part about working in live sound is the constant exposure to a variety of bands that I may have never seen otherwise. As a lover of live music, I can't imagine a better position to be in." LEFT PAGE, FROM TOP: JONATHAN FORMAN, HUBBLE BEASLEY. RIGHT PAGE, FROM TOP: BOB MAVITY, PAUL MAVITY, AUSTIN RUSSEL.
