Middle Georgia University Middle Georgia University offers many camps involving aviation and aerospace, information technology, science, math, the arts, athletics, and more. Naturally Nurtured Nature Naturally Nurtured Nature is once again accepting registrations for their Summer Nature Camp, offered weekly from May 22 through August 25. The camps last from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and are open for ages 4 through 14. The Weekly camp costs $200, and registration can be found online. North Macon Preschool North Macon Preschool is thrilled to offer summer camp June 5 – 9, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., for rising 4K – first grade students. Through Christian literature, art, music, and play, children will explore God's animals and the habitats in which they live. Children must be potty-trained. Otis Music Camp Campers can experience high- level music forums conducted by key leaders in the industry at the Otis Music Camp. The camp ends with a showcase of the students' talent. "Otis Music Camp is a labor of love put on annually by The Otis Redding Foundation and the Redding family with the goal of empowering attendees through robust programming with real-world lessons and instruction in music and the arts," the website states. Wesleyan Summer Camps Wesleyan College is still accepting applications for two different summer camps this year: Kids College and Volleyball Summer Camp. Kids College are one-week camps for boys and girls ages 4 – 13 that encourage learning through creativity, imagination, and fun learning adventures. Full-day camps are also available through Camp Trailblazer, which is for rising first through sixth graders, or Viking Clubhouse, which is for 3k through kindergarteners. Both full-day camps will last from May 31 through July 29 (with no camp July 4 – July 8) and will cost $140 per week to cover 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and $165 per week to cover 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Macon Clay Macon Clay teaches all forms of hand- building clay, including slab, coil, and press molding. Students will use a variety of clay bodies as well as glazes and glaze techniques. See offerings at maconclay.com. Macon Little Kids Theatre Macon Little Theatre partners with The Academy of the Performing Arts twice a year to create an atmosphere for children and adults ages 5 – 21. This year's production is Disney's The Little Mermaid. The Mini Camp, which is for ages 5 – 8, lasts from June 5 through 9. Production camp, which is for ages 9 – 19, lasts from June 5 through 16. Macon Little theater has introduced a new camp for older kids and adults called Advanced Camp that begins on June 19 and ends on June 23. It is for ages 16 – 21. Registration has opened and can be found online. The Madison Studio This summer, Madison Studio is offering several Summer Intensive Programs for beginner through intermediate dancers. Classes range from dance (including tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, ballet, theater arts, and tumbling) to strength and conditioning to pointe. Dancers can even take a workshop where they learn what it's like to be part of a dance company. All classes must be registered for through the studio's website.
