WHAT IS THE MISSION OF YOUR BUSINESS? Wesleyan College has always been at the forefront of accelerating equality for women. We are the first institution in the world chartered to grant degrees to women — and now is the time to double down on this mission. The World Economic Forum said it will take 136 years to achieve gender parity in the workforce. We want to see gender parity in our lifetimes. To make this happen, the world needs the expertise of an educational institution that has specialized in accelerating equality for women for nearly 200 years. — Meaghan Blight HOW CAN WOMEN BETTER SUPPORT EACH OTHER? Women in leadership positions must seek out and mentor willing leaders — the young women who want to lead and will benefit from individualized attention. By coaching — and also being willing to be coached — we can enrich ourselves and make sure the next generation is prepared to excel. I might be the president of the college, but as a student getting her education here, Daebreon is the boss! What I value most about our working relationship is the ability to give and receive constructive criticism from the women on our campus. — MB IN FIVE YEARS: In five years, I will have graduated, which is a huge accomplishment. What I hope is that I'll be able to take the skills I've learned by having a seat at the table at Wesleyan and put them to work as a leader in my career. As President of SGA, I get to mentor the new students coming onto our campus.
