Don't take our word for it —
hear from our students
When I was a Mercer student, I made it a priority to always have fun on
the weekends. College can be stressful and draining, and in choosing to
prioritize fun, it leveled out things for me a little bit. It's easy to get stuck
inside, so oftentimes I would set intentions to do something outdoors, or
at least outside of my apartment. Food is the one thing that I catered to
most on the weekends. I'm a pretty adventurous person (especially when
it comes to food), so my friends and I made sure we ate well! Whether
it was crab boils at Macon Crab House, chicken curry at Taj Indian
Oven, or gyros from Papoulis, the bond that we strengthened during
those times is unmatched. Aside from food, the experiences that I had on
weekends alone kept a glow on my face. Shopping at River Crossing was
always a good time, along with taking up the many events that Macon and
its surrounding areas had to offer. The Cherry Blossom Festival, Georgia
National Fair, and the 5K Glow Run were just a few of the things I was
able to do while in college. I'm so grateful for Macon's lively energy for
keeping me up during my years at Mercer!
