MUSEUM OF AVIATION The Museum of Aviation is offering five one-week sessions of hands-on STEM camps, featuring rigorous, goal setting experiences that challenge students to solve problems while highlighting career opportunities and workforce development strategies. All five sessions have options for first to fifth graders and then sixth to tenth graders. NATURALLY NURTURED NATURE CAMP Naturally Nurtured Nature Camp is a summer day camp for ages 4-14 that specializes in environmental and adventure education. Camp dates are the weeks of May 23, May 30, June 6, June 13, June 20, June 27, July 11, July 18, July 25, Aug. 1, Aug. 8 and Aug. 15. Children will find success and joy while building strengths and nurturing relationships that will last a lifetime. Get up close and personal with nature. Slow down and explore the forest — one bird's nest, bug, creek and trail at a time. Camp includes activities such as tree climbing/rappelling, zip-lining, hikes, nature art, exploration, survival skills, creek play and water slides. Volunteer applications are still being accepting. OTIS MUSIC CAMP The 15th annual Otis Music Camp will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday- Friday from June 6-17, with the finale performance on June 18. Macon's premier music and arts education camp will present the fundamentals of songwriting, music education and techniques for 50 young people from ages 12-18. THEATRE MACON ACADEMY Theatre Macon Academy has two one-week camps for ages 12 and older. Attendees take classes in acting, singing and dancing with the opportunity to study other theatrical art forms such as puppetry, scriptwriting, stage combat and more. The first session takes place June 6-10 and the other is June 13-17, with performances on the last day. There are 60 slots in each camp, but they're filling quickly and registration closes May 1. WESLEYAN COLLEGE FINE ARTS AND KIDS CAMPS "Fine Arts Day Camp" for high school girls happens in-person and on campus from May 30-June 3 and includes all supplies and lunch. WESLEYAN COLLEGE EQUESTRIAN CAMPS "Fun with Horses" is for girls and boys ages 5-8 who have no equine experience. Session 1 happens July 11- 15 and Session 2 is July 25-29. These sessions provide children with hands-on instruction including safety, grooming, feeding and tack. Private riding lessons included. "Beginner Camp" is for girls and boys ages 8 and older with little or no riding experience. Session 3 is July 18- 22. Riders participate in private lessons, practical horse activities and crafts, learn about breeds, markings and anatomy.
