As the air becomes crisper, excitement is palpable as downtown shopkeepers anticipate the holiday season. Candy is passed out to trick-or-treaters, storefronts become a bit brighter and thousands of people visit downtown to see Christmas lights. Main Street Macon invites you to visit this fall for unforgettable events that offer fun for the entire family – including furry friends. Trick-or-Treat in Downtown Macon: 4-7 p.m. Oct. 31. Stop by 30 participating downtown businesses along the treat trail for candy, comic books and dog treats. Begin by visiting Main Street Macon on Poplar Street to pick up a map and information about downtown Macon. Look for pumpkins along the trail to find treats and surprises. Main Street Christmas Light Extravaganza: Nov. 30-Jan. 4. The Main Street Christmas Light Extravaganza presented by the Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital, Navicent Health will return to downtown Macon this holiday season.
