This year's tour, happening 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. Dec. 2 and 1-6 p.m. Dec. 3, will showcase bungalows and cottages in the historic Vineville neighborhood. Here are a few highlights from this year's tour: 2448 Clayton St.: Built in 1920 with its slate gambrel roof and dormer windows, there is no other home in the neighborhood that resembles it. 2471 Elizabeth Place: Built near the turn of the century, this home has original oak floors and high coffered ceilings. 163 Rogers Ave.: Built in 1907 in the traditional Victorian style, complete with wraparound front porch, the residence was modified in the 1950s to reflect the Federal style. 386 Calloway Drive: Built in 2003, this home blends seamlessly into the historic architecture of the neighborhood. Exterior touches like the arched front door and clapboard siding make it nearly impossible to tell that the home wasn't built 100 years ago. 155 Buford Place: Built in 1918, with a fireplace in every room and a wonderful front porch, this house is the perfect Craftsman Bungalow. 323 Buford Place: Built in 1920, the home also features two front doors – a quirk that no one has been able to explain. The Vineville Neighborhood Association also is working with Strong Tower Fellowship to have a recently renovated city-donated home on the tour. These renovated homes, which are owned by Strong Tower Fellowship, are rented to help the community with affordable housing. The NewTown Trolley will circle the neighborhood to make sure guests get from house to house with ease. New this year, during the tour several artists and designers will be giving tips and sharing their expertise of holiday decorating and entertaining. Don't miss the Dec. 2 reception at The Big House, which includes live entertainment and appetizers. For an enjoyable place to dine before or after the tour, the Back Burner is offering a prix fixe menu at a special price for lunch and dinner on Dec. 2. Please mention the tour of homes when making reservations. Advance tour tickets are $20; day of tickets are $25. Tickets include the tour of homes, plus entrance to the Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House. Get tickets at Creter's on Ingleside Avenue, Travis Jean on Cherry Street, Karats & Keepsakes on Forsyth Street, and online at vineville.org. 1. 2448 Clayton Street - home of Jeff & Katherine Waldrop; 2.155 Buford Place - home of Jane Winston; 3.
