I earned my degree in Furnishings and Interiors from the University of Georgia, and had an internship with a design firm in London, England. I started my career as an interior designer for a high-end retail chain, then went on to work for several design firms in the Atlanta area. In 2010 I became the design assistant for the Southern Living Idea House. I have gained a wealth of knowledge from each of these experiences. When I moved to Macon in late 2012, the time felt right to focus on growing my own company, Couture House Interiors! How has your business changed over the last few years? We are growing! Things have changed since I started my home-based business in 2012. We've had some exciting projects in Macon, Atlanta and even a few out of state. To accommodate our growing project load we purchased an office on Ridge Avenue this year, and we are currently in the process of renovating. We've added another designer to the team. I'm thrilled to have my former design school classmate Meredith Moore McKenzie on board. We've also added a few part time positions to keep things going behind the scenes. I'm so thankful for every team member and what they contribute to keep things running smoothly. What sets Couture House Interiors apart from other designers? We pride ourselves in creating designs that are unique to each client's personal style. We want the finished space to represent their taste, not ours. We always consider our clients' needs and preferences, evaluate the challenges, and offer beautiful yet functional solutions. We believe that our effort to incorporate the client's favorite pieces and treasured objects are the elements that make each of our designs a unique success. It's our goal to educate potential clients that hiring us to help them make the right decisions within their budget can prevent them from making costly mistakes! What is most rewarding about your job? Good design affects human behavior and function, creates mood and impacts efficiency. It's very rewarding to help our clients create a space that affects their lifestyle in such a positive way! Andrea Proctor (left) & Meredith McKenzie
