At the time I started Pet Nanny, I had years of experience in account management and sales as an Interior Designer selling commercial furniture. In those positions I was a devout student of customer service and marketing. Taking those skills, and developing my own brand just seemed like the natural flow of how to take my passion for animals, and being a caregiver, and making it into a career. Who influenced you the most to pursue your career goals? My Grandmother owned the busiest beauty salon in her hometown for many years, while she was also raising seven children. Many of my family members are small business owners. I think it runs deep within my genetics to be a leader. When I started this business my husband, Gary Ballard, told me to put all of my skills toward doing what I love the most. Besides having his own career, he helps me with marketing, cares for pets, and also can be seen driving me around town when we are out on Pet Nanny Patrol. What is most rewarding about your job? It is knowing that my clients are confident their pets and homes are in good hands when they are away. I also cherish the friendships we make with all of the pets we care for, and each of their families. It is exciting, being able to learn from the needs of people each day and provide specialty care services for them, and their pets, all over Macon. Our team of nannies are the best group of people I could ever ask to have in my life. They share innately the passion I have for all of our pets, and their families. I am very fortunate to get to serve and work in a career, and with people I love. Women In Business The Pet Nanny team includes from left to right – Sydney Tucker, John Myers, Betsy Campbell-Ballard, Gary Ballard and Jack Mayes. Katherine Gonzalez Arise Fitness 980.622.6461 | arisefitnessllc@gmail.com arisefitnessllc.com | *** Your new business focuses on helping clients with wellness. Explain what you are doing and the results you hope to achieve. The mission of Arise Fitness is to empower humankind to reach their personal fitness goals by unlocking their confidence and unshackling their self-doubt. My focus is not just physical. I approach fitness holistically by focusing on the spiritual, mental and emotional aspects, because each of these play a role in a person's success or failure. In order for someone to be successful we have to understand and accept where they are in their life and what they actually have time for, then we can set realistic goals. I create comprehensive meal plans and custom training programs combined with unmatched accountability that set my clients up for success. What prompted you to start this business? Arise Fitness was born out of my own personal fitness struggles and a dream and desire to help others with their own. It is my solution to combat the constant struggle of the media's definition of beauty and perfection. What are your goals over the next 2-3 years as you try to grow your business? Over the next couple of years I hope to help all my clients, men and women, to be transformed physically, mentally and emotionally while they become confident in their ability to achieve the fitness goals they have always desired.
