November ■ 2016 Business & Industry Awards presented MEDC via three press conferences to the following organizations: HAECO awarded 2016 Industry of the Year; OrthoGeorgia awarded 2016 Business of the Year; Macon Occupational Medicine awarded 2016 Small Business of the Year. ■ Chamber partners with American Express for Small Business Saturday. ■ Leadership Macon Alumni Fall Family Fun Day Tailgating Party held prior to Mercer Football game with 125 alumni and families December ■ Chamber's 156th Annual Meeting celebrates another successful year of moving the business community forward and George Greer passes the gavel to Isaac Culver. 2016 Total Resource Campaign The Chamber Race The third annual Total Resource Campaign was held from April through June 2016, with Spencer Strickland of State Bank and Trust Company as Campaign Chair. Assisting as the Campaign's Vice Chairs were David Danzie, Fall Line Contractors, George Jones, L.E. Schwartz and Son, and Melanie Marshall, United Community Bank. During the seven week campaign, 50 Chamber volunteers helped generate over $350,000 in sponsorships of Chamber programs, events and electronic media for 2016-17. The outstanding group also brought 59 new businesses into the Chamber network and upgraded five existing members into the Chairman's Club.
