The restaurant is owned and operated by native Italian Nazario Filipponi, who selects each menu item based on recipes from his Italian upbringing. Menu suggestions for dinner: Begin with an Apulian-style crab cake served over a red bell pepper sauce with sweet garlic and rosemary followed by a delicious entrée of whole branzino baked in rock salt, cleaned tableside and served with sautéed asparagus and mashed potatoes. End the meal with bananas foster, flambéed tableside, or classic tiramisu. For lunch, choose from a selection of panini, pasta, salads, soups, quiche and frittata. Each day features a special soup, panini, frittata or quiche. All lunch items are priced less than $14 and include a non-alcoholic beverage. Marco also has a private dining room seating up to 30 people and a refined bar fully stocked with the finest wines and cocktails. Mexican MARGARITAS MERCER VILLAGE 1602 MONTPELIER AVENUE | 254.7707 The Margaritas at Mercer Village opened in August 2011 as part of the Lofts project on the Mercer University campus. It is located in the first of what will eventually be five lofts buildings spread out around Mercer. The Mercer location is affiliated with the other Margaritas' locations in central Georgia that have been run by the Rodriguez family since 1988. Margaritas Mercer Village serves all of the usual Mexican favorites as well as some items unique to its location . There are 32 beers on tap with a good mix of craft, Mexican and old standards such as Bud Light. The restaurant caters to a university/downtown clientele and often has Mercer sporting events showing on their big-screen TV. Now serving brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
