DECEMBER/JANUARY 2017 MACON MAGAZINE | 21 1. Maggie was picked up at Mercer by one of Critical Care for Animal Angels previous adopters. They had contacted us in hopes that we could help her. Of course we agreed and brought this beautiful girl into our rescue. Within a few days, we realized she was pregnant. Maggie ended up having 10 beautiful babies. Two have been pre approved for adoption, but we have mom and eight other sweet little ones we hope to find homes for. Maggie will be fixed, up to date on shots, microchipped and on a heart worm prevention. Maggie has done well with other animals of all sizes. She also knows her commands, she actually knew them before she came to us. At some point someone somewhere loved her. Maggie's puppies adoption fee will cover age appropriate shots, microchip, and their spay/neuter. They are all very sweet with amazing dispositions. 2. Chuck is a 5-year-old American Stafforshire Terrier. When we first discovered him he was at the top of the list to be euthanized at Macon Bibb Animal Welfare because of an injured eye. This injury was treatable and we fought hard to save this beautiful soul. When Chuckie was released, he was immediately taken to the vet. In addition to his eye injury, Chuckie was very malnourished and had one of the worst cases of heartworms we had ever seen. Regardless of the above mentioned, we did not give up on him and began his healing process with help from the vet and lots of love. The first step was having his infected eye removed. Once healed, he began the long road of fast kill heart worm treatmeant that takes three shots in a 60-90 day period. This, coupled with a healthy diet every day, helped Chuckie become stronger and more confident. Despite Chuckie's past, he has never ceased to amaze us with the size of his heart. He is affectionate, loves children and even cats. Chuckie's scars just go to show that he is a survivor that didn't let hard times turn him bitter. He now enjoys pup-cups from Starbucks, being rocked to sleep like a baby, car rides and cuddles on the couch. Chuck, our favorite one-eyed lover boy, is still looking for his forever home. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, heart worm free as well as house and crate trained with very good house manners. Call us today to set up meet and greet. We know with the right person, it will be love at first sight. 5. This is Vivi, she is a 4-year-old doxie who is paralyzed from the waist down. But trust me, this does NOT slow her down. First thing in the morning she goes flying out the bedroom door along with the rest of the dogs big and small. She drinks her water while the rest go out to use the restroom, then it's her bathroom break. Once the drag bag is on so she doesn't scratch up her legs, it's play time. She can keep up with the best of them. The only time Vivi needs any help is with her bathroom breaks (that take all of two minutes) and getting up the stairs. She is a normal, sweet dog who gets along with everyone, including the cats and kids. I think people are afraid that she might be too much work. Honestly she's not -Liesel Schultz | Critical Care For Animal Angels (CCAA) | 478-293-2066 1 2 3 Photography by Lili Photography
