Despite my wife's allergies, she saw Kazoo and, I think, fell in love as quickly as I did. 6. My husband, and I adopted our dog, Jessie, from the Marion County Humane Society seven years ago when we were living in West Virginia. During a spur-of- the-moment visit to the shelter to just "look" at dogs, we were drawn to the 1-year-old lab/setter mix. Now 8 years old, she's the best dog we could have ever asked for, and we can't imagine our life without her. 7. Charity was pulled from Jones County animal control in July of 2014. She was going to be euthanized any day. She was a complete mess. Little did I know she would steal my heart. Here we are over 2 years later and she is still with me, my furry soul mate. 8. Ruby Tuesday was rescued from the alley with her kittens who all were placed in loving homes. Then Ruby was spayed and found her forever home as an inside, and now, quite fat cat that never tries to go outside at all. 6 5 7 8
