I believe my strong therapeutic approach coupled with my extensive knowledge of multiple massage modalities is something that makes me unique. I'm excited to have studied so many types of massage, but my favorite – and the types I specialize in - are orthopaedic massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, and deep-tissue work. I love these massage modalities so much because of how effectively they provide pain relief, in many cases, for clients who have been in chronic pain for many years. What elements about your job inspire you? Being a part of something that improves quality of life so much is immensely satisfying and it motivates me to continue learning. Nothing makes me happier than helping my clients to overcome pain and dysfunction, and I'm proud to be someone they can count on to be knowledgeable and efficient in my work. For many, therapeutic massage is a part of their regular health care, and I like to think I'm helping in some way to move it from the realm of the luxury and spa world into the world of valuable and clinically significant therapeutic treatment. Is there a specific area of study you enjoy? My favorite modalities are Swedish massage, Myofascial Release and Neuromuscular Therapy because of the benefits obtained for my clients. There are many benefits of Swedish massage, including general relaxation, dissolution of scar tissues and adhesions, and improved circulation, which can speed healing and reduce swelling from injury. Myofascial release is the application of sustained pressure and precise movement into the fascial system, to eliminate fascial restrictions. Myofascial release is a valuable therapeutic approach for the relief of back pain, fibromyalgia, neurological dysfunction, restriction of motion, chronic pain, and headaches. I utilize myofascial release for many of my clients, and it is especially beneficial for those who are athletic – active duty military, Cross Fit participants, regular gym-goers, cyclists, runners, and dancers, for example. Finally, Neuromuscular therapy is used to find and release spasms (hypercontraction) in the tissues, eliminate trigger points which cause referred pain, assist in rebuilding the strength of injured tissues, promote venous and lymphatic flow, and restore postural alignment, proper biomechanics, and flexibility to the body's soft tissues. Neuromuscular therapy, when carefully and knowledgably applied, is one of the most effective massage tools in the treatment of pain and dysfunction. This gets practiced every day here! *** Women In Business
