APRIL/MAY 2016 103 Charise Stephens Georgia Wellness and Fitness Festival gafitfestival@gmail.com midgafitnessfestival.weebly.com Five years ago, you were chosen as one of Macon Magazine's Macon Magazine 5 under 40. You were working on environmental projects then. What are you doing now? At that time, I was working to bring in environmental projects and jobs to Middle Georgia. Now I have a new mission. I am the founder of the Georgia Wellness and Fitness Festival. In 2014, I brought together experts throughout the community for a common goal of making Middle Georgia healthier. Since that time Georgia Wellness and Fitness Festival (GWFF) has completed two major festivals drawing thousands of people and hosting/ partnering/sponsoring /supporting over 125 health related events in the community. How is The Georgia Wellness and Fitness Festival (GWFF) unique? It is the first and only festival of its kind in Middle Georgia. This festival is actually one of the few in the United States. GWFF is a grassroots effort to be a catalyst for healthy changes in Middle Georgia lifestyles. I also started FIT TV and host workshops on topics ranging from women empowerment to youth entrepreneurship program. I am committed to empowering people to take control of their health and live healthier and happier. It is my passion, and I want to make positive changes in our community. *** SPECIAL ADVERTISING SECTION BJ Dunwody & Sheey Donaldson turnerboone 484 Cherry Street 478.361.7250 (BJ) | 478.394.3442 (Shelley) BJ@turnerboone.com | shelley@turnerboone.com Tell us about turnerboone and the Macon showroom. turnerboone is an entrepreneurial start-up founded by Ellen Turner and Laura Boone in 2004 with a goal to change the office furniture business into an experience that goes beyond transactional procurement.
