Evans Karats & Keepsakes 4524 Forsyth Road, Ste 202 | 478.471.6688 Facebook.com/KaratsandKeepsakesBoutique If you had to choose one thing, what is most rewarding about your job as the owner of Karats & Keepsakes? Watching mothers and daughters find common ground in their own style is truly gratifying. Most women will confirm that teenage years are a joyful yet challenging time, especially when it comes to clothes. I value being a part of finding the right balance for daughters seeking their mothers' approval and mothers who face the challenge of independence and age appropriateness for their daughter. Another notably rewarding experience is being an advocate for style through the ages. We want every woman at every life stage to look and feel beautiful when wearing Karats' clothes. It gives me great joy to see a customer at any age come out of the dressing room with a smile on her face. What is the biggest challenge that your business faces? Competition between online and mail order business and traditional brick & mortar stores continues to rise. Small businesses contribute to our community and offer so much to our customers, like the benefits of personal service and the opportunity to feel, touch, and try on a garment before you buy. You have been a big supporter of locally owned businesses throughout the years. Why do you feel this is important? The success or failure of a small business depends on local support. It is vital that small businesses thrive and grow for a community to survive. Small businesses are the lifeblood of any town. We must support each other in business as we also support our local schools and charitable organizations. Cocktails and Cupcakes, your signature event that raises money for Central Georgia Autism, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Why are you so committed to this cause, and how has your business helped you support it for so many years? One in 63 children is affected by autism, which is the fastest growing disability in the nation. It affects more children than cancer, diabetes, and AIDS put together. C&C began in 2007 as a way to help celebrate our 20th anniversary in business and to honor our great nephew, Jack Ursitti, who had recently been diagnosed with autism. I'm thankful for the support of my husband Jerry and my Karats Girls! With their amazing dedication, the support of Karats customers, and people in this community, we have helped spread awareness for a cause that is close to my heart. Women In Business
