MACONMAGAZINE.COM IT WAS 30 YEARS AGO TODAY. Well, not exactly. But 2016 does mark the 30th year of Macon Magazine. We're very proud that this publication has served our community for that long. The photo on this page shows the magazine founders working with the first issue. In 1986, Lynn Cass, on the far right, and Joni Wolfe, third from right, launched Macon Magazine. It was a bold move for two women, who even then faced an uphill struggle in the business world simply because of their gender. But they made it work and watched it grow. We were fortunate enough to acquire the magazine and have done our best to make it a relevant part of our community for the last 16 years. We truly enjoy being a part of Macon. We love Macon. It has been our home for many years, and we have no plans of going anywhere else. Neither does Macon Magazine. We will continue to highlight the positives of our community. We hope we can also help other people understand the important issues we all must address and assets that we all must share in order for Macon, Bibb County and Middle Georgia to continue to grow. Thanks to you all for supporting this publication for this long. Without faithful advertisers who understand the importance of reaching our audience, without our faithful readers who make up that audience, we couldn't survive. The bottom line? This is a business. But it's also a passion. Here's hoping we will never let our community down. Because for 30 years, the community has supported this publication. For that, we are grateful.
