22 | MACON MAGAZINE APRIL/MAY 2015 Tell us about James-Bates- Brannan-Groover-LLP. James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP is a full-service business law firm delivering high-quality, cost-effective legal services for individuals and businesses throughout Georgia. We put our clients first by being responsive, by being accessible, by continuously improving our procedures and by understanding their needs. What do you find most satisfying about your profession? Kathryn Willis, Attorney: The most satisfying aspect of practicing law is the need to constantly learn new things. The law is always evolving and lawyers are required to keep abreast of the ever- changing legal landscape. Handling a case is like solving a puzzle. I enjoy applying newly learned concepts to different cases in order to try and complete the puzzle. It makes for a very stimulating profession. What sets your law firm apart from other local firms? Kim Stroup, Attorney: At James- Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP, we deliver an entrepreneurial, creative approach designed to help our clients grow and meet their goals. By placing our clients' interests first, we are able to assist our clients in a professional and efficient manner. Tell us about your involvement in the community. Corrie Holton, Attorney: I live and work in downtown Macon, so I have a vested interest in its development! I serve on the board of directors for both NewTown Macon and Campus Clubs, a faith-based educational ministry for at- risk children in Macon. I am a member of Historic Macon and First Presbyterian Church. In my free time, I like to eat at downtown restaurants, shop locally, and go to Macon's ongoing events. Who influenced you the most? Natalie Stroud Brown, Attorney: My dad was the primary influence in my decision to become a lawyer. Throughout my life, my dad has shown me how rewarding it can be to own and run a business, something that I experience on a daily basis as I build my own practice. Additionally, my dad instilled in me a love of reading, something that greatly benefits me in my job. What advice would you give someone considering a career as an attorney? Dianna Lee, Attorney: The practice of law is not the easiest way to make money, so be sure that you are choosing your career for the right reasons. If you enjoy thinking outside the box and being creative to solve problems, being a lawyer gives you the opportunity to use your skills to make a real impact in people's lives and livelihoods, which is incredibly rewarding. 231 Riverside Drive, Ste. 100 | Macon, GA 31201 georgiaslawfirm.com | 478.742.4280 JAMES-BATES-BRANNAN-GROOVER-LLP GEORGIA'S LAW FIRM Clockwise from left: Kathryn Willis, Dianna Lee, Natalie Stroud Brown, Kim Stroup, Corrie Holton.
