Excellent health care in this area is something we brag about. One reason is because five of the area's postsecondary educational institutions offer degrees in the medical field. Mercer University's School of Medicine uses the Medical Center of Central Georgia as its primary teaching hospital. With a steady influx of new doctors, nurses and other well-trained health care providers, hospitals are able to offer a wider range of specialty medicines than are typically found in larger cities. Hospitals are located in Bibb, Houston, Peach, and Monroe counties. Hospitals are listed in order of size and number of services provided.
