JUNE/JULY 2013 MACON MAGAZINE I 69 At every level in our organization, female employees are given opportunities to develop both professionally and personally – and they are encouraged to contribute their unique talents and perspectives into making Cox a successful, inclusive environment. What positions of leadership do women hold at Cox? Within Middle Georgia, women hold a wide range of leadership positions ranging from field operations to marketing, sales and public affairs. The Cox Southeast region, including Middle Georgia, is led by industry award-winning Senior Vice President & General Manager Jacqui Vines. And the top local leader in Middle Georgia, Lynn Murphey, is also a female. How does Cox support the female-driven events within our community? Cox's commitment to the community is alive and well among our Middle Georgia family. Most recently, employees pulled together to help paint, install baseboards, clean construction debris and assist with landscaping at a May Habitat for Humanity Women's Build. This is an annual tradition for the women at Cox as we regularly volunteer our time and talents to help support those who need help most. How does Cox connect with its female audience? Cox's vibrant sisterhood and culture of inclusion has been constructed through strong ties and connections. We connect with female customers by providing them with the advanced services they want and need. We connect with our female employees by providing opportunities for advancement, development and involvement. We connect with our female suppliers and vendors by offering ample opportunities to do business with us and grow with us. And, we connect with our community by supporting Habitat for Humanity and other worthy organizations such as Wesleyan College and area schools, Georgia Women of Achievement, Girl Scouts, Junior League and many others that are important to the fabric of our community. Our goal is to make all of these connections strong, broad and long- lasting. To us, that's what empowerment means: reaching out to all women with whom we connect, in all of the communities we serve, and involving them in our business. We're all stronger as a result.
