HOTELFORTYFIVE.COM • 478.216.9900 40 1 COTTON AVE • MACON, GA 3120 1 GENER AL MANAGER AT HOTEL FORTY FIVE Q: You built your career in the kitchen before moving into hotel leadership — how does that culinary background shape the way you run a hotel now? A: I have worked in many hotels with many food and beverage outlets, and I have opened a hotel from the ground up. Every operation taught me something about leadership and how to lean on my adaptability and problem-solving. A kitchen is structured for good reason, and coming from that world made the move into hotel leadership feel natural. I have made plenty of mistakes over the years, but I grew from every one of them. Q: Hotel Forty Five sits in one of downtown Macon's historic high-rises. What's your vision for the hotel's role in downtown Macon's continued growth and revitalization? A: We want Hotel Forty Five to be where people come to eat great food, enjoy a creative cocktail at Hightales Rooftop Bar, and stay in a hotel that immerses itself in the local history. When you visit Macon, this is where you want to be. Q: You spent time early in your career in the Southeast and now return to lead a Southern property — what excites you most about Macon specifically, and what have your first impressions of the community been? A: I love that the Macon community looks out for one another. Every person I have met has been wonderful and has welcomed my family in. It is nice to go to the array of events, meet the local advocates, and get introduced to new people along the way. I love the small town feel of it all. It is a great time to be in Macon and watch the community grow right in front of us.
