With a box cutter and keys in Abigail's bag (likely
sourced from her downtown boutique, The Vintage
Thread), they rushed to their new home and tore into
the carpet without hesitation. By 9 p.m., it was gone,
revealing beautiful hardwoods that needed just a
touch of TLC.
From that point forward, it was floorplan tetris,
YouTube University, the subtle art of detachment, a
commitment to "the thrift," and steadfast endurance.
On the abridged list of DIY renovations: tearing down
kitchen walls, painting everywhere and everything,
creating a built-in shelving system, and curating a
dream dressing room.
Meanwhile, Abigail ran The Vintage Thread while
working serving shifts at Circa. Her greatest piece of
advice for me, as someone learning to balance both
a business and a home?
"Rome was not built in a day, and
neither is your home."
