Live Well 2025
S p e c i a l a d v e r t i s i n g s e c t i o n
What is this initiative's mission?
The Monthly Men's Mental Health
Meet-up brings men together on
the fourth Monday of each month at
Serenity Entertainment Complex (427
Poplar Street) from 6:30 – 8 p.m. It
provides men the chance to share their
experiences with each other and find
support from within their community.
How does your work improve lives?
Through these casual meet-ups,
we are making true, meaningful
connections between men of all ages
and showing them they are not alone
in the challenges they face. They have
a chance to talk about the issues they
are going through, the struggles they
have in overcoming challenges, and
provide others ways in which they have
overcome other challenges.
What challenges do you face, and
how do you overcome them?
As every man who has joined the group
has either brought up or agreed about,
it's hard for men to open up about their
feelings, their challenges, and their low
points. They've all been raised to "man
up," to take care of things and to be
stronger by not showing any emotions.
Our challenge is getting them through
the doors, into the group, and opening
up, but once we get them there…real
life-changing improvement can begin.
What is a myth? And the antidote?
We want men to understand their well-
being, health (physical AND mental),
and feelings are just as important as
anyone else in their families, with their
friends, and in their careers, but society
has deemed that a strong man is one
who doesn't admit he's struggling.
We've created a safe space for men
to open up with each other…to lean
on each other…and to realize they are
not alone in their struggles. And that
other men are there to celebrate their
accomplishments.
