Mercer Singers Prelude to GMEA Concert Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. The Voices of Spring: Mercer Women's Chamber Choir Sunday, Apr. 12 at 3 p.m. Farewell Concert: Mercer Singers Saturday, Apr. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Wind Ensemble Dr. Brittan Braddock, conductor Fall Side-by-Side Monday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. Veterans High School The Mercer University Wind Ensemble joins forces with Veterans High School to present a celebratory fall concert to kick off the season. Featured repertoire includes Deciduous by Viet Cuong and Zoom by Scott Boerma. Chamber Winds and Friends Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. The Mercer University Wind Ensemble will break into chamber groups to present an eclectic and varied evening of music. Featured groups will include the Brass Quintet and Wind Quintet as well as other ensembles from within the band. Voices Monday, Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m. The Piedmont Grand Opera House The Mercer University Wind Ensemble is excited to present a stunning concert to close the fall semester. The program will close with James Stephenson's Mercer University Townsend School of Music | music.mercer.edu University Ensembles Unless otherwise noted, all performances are ee and held in Neva Langley Fickling Hall in the McCorkle Music Building on Mercer's Macon campus. Symphony No. 2 "Voices," an incredible piece of music and designed as a concerto for wind ensemble and mezzo-soprano. Samantha Mishima Friedman will be featured as the mezzo-soprano. $10 General Admission, Student ID free. Bands at the Grand Honor Band Festival: Opening Night Friday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. The Piedmont Grand Opera House Friday night will be the first of two concerts in the Bands at the Grand Honor Band Festival hosted by Mercer University Bands. The Mercer University Wind Ensemble will perform an exciting program on the lighter side of classical. Dr. Nathan Gay will be performing Salt of the Earth Concerto for Tuba and Wind Ensemble by Andy Scott. Middle and High School Honor Bands Saturday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. The Piedmont Grand Opera House The Saturday afternoon concert concludes the Third Annual Bands at the Grand Honor Band Festival. Top middle and high school students auditioned and traveled from around the state to participate in this 3-day festival full of masterclasses, performances, and community building. Season Finale: Myths and Mysteries Monday, Apr. 20 at 7:30 p.m. The Piedmont Grand Opera House This is sure to be a stunning season finale. The Wind Ensemble will perform Jocelyn Hagen's Medusa which is a theatrical work for soprano and wind ensemble based on the famous Greek myth. This concert will also feature the winner of the Townsend Concerto Competition for Winds, Percussion, Piano, and Voice. $10 General Admission, Student ID free.
