82 maconmagazine.com | DECEMBER 2023/JANUARY 2024 S p e c i a l a d v e r t i s i n g s e c t i o n What is the mission of your business? To put it simply: I strive to make life a little bit easier for my clients. I'm often advising clients in what is likely one of the most diffi cult times in their lives. Whether that is in the course of a custody dispute, guardianship proceedings for an incapacitated parent or child, or following a serious accident, I aim to be a compassionate, eff ective legal advisor to my clients. I have experienced diffi culty and loss in my life: loss of fi nancial stability; loss of a law practice; and even, loss of a marriage. But through those times, and many other life challenges, I was fortunate to have an eff ective and gracious support system to see me through it all. I aim to be that for my own clients. How does your business improve lives? I hope that by taking the burden and stress of the legal process off of my clients' shoulders, my practice can free up energy and space for clients to turn their attention to other important matters, such as their mental, physical and spiritual health. I encourage my clients to focus on their wellbeing, because I know that if a client is struggling, everyone around him or her is feeling it, too. Thus, while I focus on their legal needs, clients are free to work toward becoming the best version of themselves in that moment and capable to care for loved ones who depend on them. The why (or who) behind the what: In short: children. We are all someone's child. A child does not get to choose their parents, nor the situation into which they are born. But as adults, we have the liberty to do the right thing. Whether I am assisting with an adoption or a custody dispute, when the adults involved put the child's best interest ahead of their own hurts, magic happens and cases resolve. Life is good. But life is also hard. I do not want anyone to ever have to go it alone without hope.
