The most rewarding has been the arrival of Santa and the magic he brings to the children and their parents. While the event has evolved, many generations of children have participated with their families…Parents whose children are now in high school and college or with grandchildren return to have their photos taken with Santa. We hope they along with others will start new traditions at the palace of the South." This year staff and volunteers, under the watchful coordination of Katherine Walden, return to spread their magic. Walden, who has been involved since the very first Christmas at Hay House recalls: "It is remarkable that, for 36 years, Christmas at Hay House has enchanted generations of children with the stuff of dreams for little girls and boys. Volunteers, designers, and staff still get excited to see what the current season brings to the Palace of the South. Driving by the house at night or walking up the marble steps for opening night, still makes me have goose bumps! A rush of memories of that first year when we had no idea if this hard work would pay off. Boy has it ever!" Santa At Hay House November 23 This event allows guests young, old and pets too, the opportunity to tell Santa just what they want for Christmas.
