Our mission is to create and support one to
one mentoring relationships that ignite the
power and promise of youth.
What services do you offer, and how do
they meet a need for Central Georgians?
Our mentoring programs empower the
potential in every kid, helping them improve
academically, graduate from high school,
and setting them up for successful adult lives.
I hope more women will step up and
become a mentor to our youth. You can
empower every young person to build key
social and emotional skills they need to
succeed in life and their career.
What has been the most challenging
part of being a professional woman? A
challenge that I've always had was that some
folks underestimated my abilities based on
my gender and size (I'm really petite).
What experiences led you to choosing this
professional path? Meeting families from
our marginalized communities and seeing
first hand how they lived opened up my
eyes up to a world that needed to be
transformed. I changed my career path
because I had the ability to help make
a positive difference.
What is the best advice you have
ever received, business or otherwise?
I am a harpist and pianist. In the music
world, there is a saying that you are
only as good as your last performance.
This is true in everyday life as well.
