Enjoy live events Many Macon restaurants and venues host events throughout the year, such as weekly trivia and live music. Some of my favorite places to play trivia are Jag's Pizzeria, Amici's, and Just Tap'd. Head over solo, or grab your friends. Either way, it's a fun way to unwind and socialize after class. Another cool place to hang out is the Society Garden. Located on Ingleside Avenue, this family and dog-friendly outdoor venue hosts local and regional live music every weekend. It's a unique place to enjoy some great tunes and good company. Another live music spot to check out is the Wheelhouse Rooftop above Kudzu Seafood Company, where local bands and amazing views of downtown create an iconic atmosphere. Step into nature Many Mercer students and members of the Macon community love to spend time outdoors. Whether you're hosting a friend's birthday picnic, walking the scenic trails, or tubing down the Ocmulgee River, Amerson River Park is perfect for anyone who wants to get out into nature. Lake Tobesofkee is another popular outdoor location for Mercer students, offering activities such as swimming, fishing, camping, sailing, and so much more. "In my free time, I go rock climbing at Macon Rocks. My friends and I go there several times a week. There are a couple of hidden, really interesting hiking spots in Macon. My favorite is Browns Mount because it overlooks the whole city." Coy Eberhardt, '25 Philosophy and Political Science 31
