Mercer University's Center for Collaborative Journalism was officially designated as the J. Reginald (Reg) Murphy Center, honoring the Mercer alumnus for his notable contributions to journalism and his alma mater. Evelyn and Joe Adams and Harriet and Troy Yaughn brought their favorite magazine aboard the Yacht Club on a Windstar Cruise for their holiday in the Grenadines. Mercer students gathered on Black Field before the historic first-round FCS playoff game hosted by Mercer. The Mercer Bears football team secured a 17-7 victory against Gardner-Webb. Dulcie Vanderhoek and Carys Thompson, eighth graders at Miller Magnet Middle School and members of Jr. Beta Club and Lighthouse Team, organized a blanket and pet food drive, Deck the Paws, to support the shelter animals at All About Animals Animal Rescue. Weekend Lunch volunteers serve meals at Christ Church.
