CGCC Foundation, where help grows hope. What are you most proud of right now? In 2023, CGCC recognized several needs in the community, and as a part of our continued commitment to supporting Middle Georgia's healthcare needs we launched several new initiatives and programs. We added supportive care to the practice for the first time in its history. Veronica L. Sudekum, M.D. focuses on helping patients and families navigate the physical, practical, and emotional challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. In addition, we launched a Volunteer Program to enhance our patient experience through community involvement, and also began offering non-oncology infusion therapy to benefit patients and community members with a wide variety of other medical conditions. While continuing to grow and improve, CGCC also remained a nationally recognized cancer center, maintaining the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification and the American Society of Clinical Oncology's (ASCO) Patient-Centered Cancer Care Certification for high- quality cancer care. What needs to happen to help our community live happier and healthier lives? Community members need to stay committed to proactive screenings. They are important to living a happier, healthier, and longer life. We can't encourage routine screenings enough! They can help with early detection, early diagnosis, and save lives.
