Seven Steps to Heaven Faculty Jazz Combo Friday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. Monty Cole and Marcus Reddick team up with Ken Trimmins, (trumpet), Kevin Bales (piano), Neal Starkey (bass), and Mercer alumnus Jeremy Roberts (guitar) for an evening of classic jazz and original compositions. And Legions Will Rise Monty Cole, clarinet and saxophone Brittan Braddock, clarinet Marcus Reddick, percussion David Johnson, violin Kyung-A Yoo, collaborative piano Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Monty Cole joins forces with Kyung-A Yoo (piano), Marcus Reddick (marimba), David Johnson (violin), and Brittan Braddock (clarinet) in a concert of 20th Century works for clarinet and saxophone. Music of Passion for the Season of Lent Richard Kosowski, tenor Adrian Gnam, oboe Timothy McReynolds, collaborative piano Tuesday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. Themes of devotion, sacrifice, supplication, and hope are explored in Music of Passion for the Season of Lent. Programming will include Benjamin Britten's rapturously mystical Canticle 1: My beloved is mine and the haunting, angst-ridden Canticle 2: Abraham and Isaac. Townsend All-Faculty Gala Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. The Townsend concert season opens with a showcase of performances by the distinguished faculty artists in a festival gala concert event.
