FROM TOP LEFT: Keisha ReneƩ Callins, MD, MPH received the inaugural Sandra Dunagan Deal Rural Service Fellow award from the Mercer University School of Medicine. She was selected because she has made significant contributions to mentoring, inspiring, and encouraging Mercer medical students to care for Georgians in rural, underserved areas, furthering the School's mission. Each year, Nathan Deal Scholars select the recipient who best exemplifies Sandra Deal's selfless devotion, love for education and promotion of excellence. | The Community Foundation of Central Georgia congratulated 13 nonprofits across the Central Georgia region who recently received a total of $221,860 from our Nonprofit Grant Program. The projects are working to address the most urgent needs and opportunities in our region. | Naomi Jackson is a dedicated Bibb County 4-H'er who has been involved in the program since the 5th grade. A Central High School junior, Naomi has demonstrated servant leadership, compassion, and excellence. In March 2023, she competed and won 1st place at the District Project Achievement and went on to achieved 2nd place at Georgia 4-H State Congress in the category of Human Development. | Stacy Lane celebrating her 60th birthday with her eight grandchildren. Lane wanted to take her family to visit Macon for her birthday, commemorating ways Macon has changed and been transformed since they last saw it growing up. | Colony Bank celebrated the opening of their Bass Road location with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. A grand opening party is scheduled for October 19. | Keicha Danzie brought along her favorite local magazine to hike Macchu Picchu. | Nancy White visited Hunza Valley, Pakistan with Macon Faces 24 maconmagazine.com | AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2023
