The word "fashion" encompasses many areas. Designer, stylist, and seamstress are my categories of expertise. I sketch and plan out the design for a garment, I source the fabric necessary for the garment, and I also sew the garment myself. Once the garment is completed, I style the look by adding accessories. What do you love most about Macon? Why live here over anywhere else? Downtown Macon has so much art in all forms; it's filled with talent. I lived in Atlanta for five years and was invited to Macon to participate in a virtual fashion show hosted by Jamice Terry of Chic Culture, Inc. That day opened my eyes to so much more creativity here in the city. I was deciding between moving to Maryland or Macon, but Macon literally chose me. How has our community embraced you and made you feel supported? I love the appreciation of art in all forms here in Macon. Most people hear "art" and only think of painting or photography or sculpting, not realizing that making clothing is also art. Fashion is wearable art that the world plays in every day! Since I have been here, everyone who finds out what I do has been so supportive. As I network with more creatives, I'm getting so many people who are interested in helping me succeed. This place truly has a heart for entrepreneurs, and I love it. Give your best "pitch" for someone considering moving to the area. If you're looking for somewhere to live that is forever evolving, a place that gives you a chance to grow your small business into a big business – while having the support of your city, incredible cuisine and cocktails, and most importantly art and music, then Macon is the place for you.
